Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!As an Auto Electrician, you will be responsible for installing wiring harnesses, electrical components, lighting systems, batteries, sensors, and control units while ensuring all electrical assemblies meet quality, safety, and manufacturing standards. You will also diagnose electrical faults, perform system testing, and support production teams in delivering reliable heavy vehicle electrical installations.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and route wiring harnesses on heavy vehicles and truck chassis according to engineering drawings.
- Assemble and connect electrical components, including lighting systems, batteries, relays, switches, sensors, and control panels.
- Perform electrical testing using multimeters and diagnostic equipment to verify system performance.
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults during vehicle assembly and production.
- Read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documents.
- Support the installation and integration of 12V and 24V DC electrical systems.
- Assist with CAN bus communication system installation and troubleshooting where applicable.
- Ensure all electrical work complies with company quality standards and workplace safety regulations.
- Maintain tools, testing equipment, and workstations in a clean and safe condition.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality assurance, and production teams to resolve technical issues.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing efficiency and product quality.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of automotive electrical systems and vehicle wiring.
- Experience with 12V and 24V DC electrical circuits.
- Ability to install and troubleshoot electrical components on heavy vehicles.
- Knowledge of wiring diagrams and electrical schematics.
- Familiarity with electrical testing equipment such as multimeters.
- Understanding of CAN bus communication systems is an advantage.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work effectively in a manufacturing or production environment.
Qualifications
- Diploma or ITI in Electrical, Automotive Electrical, or a related technical field.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience as an Auto Electrician or Automotive Electrical Technician.
- Experience in truck manufacturing, commercial vehicles, heavy equipment, or automotive production is preferred.
- Knowledge of electrical safety standards and quality control procedures.
