Job Overview

Al Tayer Insignia is hiring an experienced QA Engineer in Dubai, UAE, to support software quality assurance and testing activities across its omnichannel e-commerce website and mobile applications.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing test strategies, developing test cases, executing automated and manual testing, and ensuring that software applications meet business and technical requirements.

This role involves working closely with in-house and outsourced development teams, business analysts and project managers to improve software quality, optimize testing processes and deliver reliable digital retail solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Software Quality Assurance and Testing

• Develop innovative software testing strategies and improve quality assurance processes to reduce testing duplication and improve efficiency.

• Design and prepare comprehensive test plans and test cases based on business and technical requirements.

• Break down project requirements into positive and negative testing scenarios.

• Perform manual and automated testing across web applications, mobile applications and APIs.

• Conduct functional, integration and regression testing to ensure applications perform according to specifications.

• Review software features and verify that developed solutions meet defined system requirements.

• Identify software defects, investigate issues and coordinate with development teams to ensure timely resolution.

Test Automation and Framework Development

• Design, develop, program and execute automated test suites for e-commerce websites and mobile applications.

• Automate major front-end functionalities across different browsers and platforms.

• Build and maintain scalable test automation frameworks using modern testing technologies.

• Support the development and implementation of QA coding standards and automation best practices.

• Evaluate emerging testing tools and technologies to identify opportunities for improving software quality.

• Apply automated testing techniques to improve testing coverage and reduce repetitive manual activities.

E-Commerce Website and Mobile Application Testing

• Oversee quality assurance activities for omnichannel e-commerce websites and mobile applications.

• Test website functionality, mobile application features, APIs and integrations with third-party e-commerce systems.

• Verify the performance and reliability of e-commerce platforms and order management systems.

• Ensure compatibility with modern web standards, browsers and mobile environments.

• Identify potential technical issues affecting the online shopping experience and recommend suitable solutions.

Collaboration and Project Management

• Work closely with developers, business analysts, project managers and external development teams throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Participate in regular requirement reviews with stakeholders to ensure project requirements are clearly defined.

• Support projects from initial planning and testing strategy development through implementation and production delivery.

• Provide technical recommendations for resolving software errors based on system knowledge and business requirements.

• Contribute to project estimations, impact assessments and development change risk assessments.

• Work within Agile Scrum and test-driven development environments to support successful project delivery.

Qualifications and Requirements

Education

– Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related technical discipline.

Professional Experience

• Minimum 3+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance and Test Automation.

• Practical experience in web application testing, mobile application testing and API automation.

• Experience designing and implementing automated testing frameworks from scratch.

• Previous exposure to e-commerce platforms, order management systems and third-party e-commerce applications.

Technical Skills and Knowledge

• Strong programming knowledge of Java, Python, SQL and XML.

• Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks and tools, including:

  • Selenium

  • Cucumber and Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD)

  • Katalon

  • TestNG

  • JUnit

  • REST Assured

  • PhantomJS

• Knowledge of Continuous Integration (CI) practices and tools such as Jenkins and GitHub.

• Experience with API testing, web automation and mobile application automation.

• Familiarity with modern web technologies and development standards.

• Experience using Jira and QMetry for bug tracking, test management and project coordination.

• Understanding of Agile Scrum methodologies and test-driven development.

• Knowledge of JMeter scripting for performance and load testing will be an added advantage.
