Al-Futtaim Group is seeking an experienced Senior Manager – Business Applications (Finance) / Technical Product Owner to join its Corporate Services and GTDP team in Dubai, UAE.
This is a senior-level opportunity for professionals with extensive experience in Finance technology, enterprise applications, IT strategy, and digital transformation. The successful candidate will act as a strategic link between Finance and Technology teams, ensuring that technology investments support business priorities and the organization’s long-term objectives.
In this role, you will lead Finance technology strategy, manage application development priorities, oversee technical solution planning, and support enterprise-wide Finance transformation initiatives. You will also drive innovation through automation, data analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), and emerging technologies while ensuring compliance with enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, governance, and financial control standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Finance Technology Strategy and Stakeholder Management
- Build strong working relationships with Finance leadership, business process owners, and technology stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain a multi-year Finance technology strategy and roadmap aligned with business transformation objectives.
- Work closely with the Business Product Owner to evaluate technical solutions and support important product decisions.
- Contribute to product backlogs, technical requirements, and the development of business-focused technology solutions.
- Define, review, and validate user stories to ensure they deliver measurable business outcomes.
- Participate in vendor evaluation, RFx processes, and technical solution assessments.
- Support business case development, operating model improvements, and technology investment planning.
- Identify opportunities to introduce automation, advanced analytics, AI, and other emerging technologies into Finance operations.
2. Finance Transformation and Technical Product Ownership
- Manage the Finance technology demand pipeline and prioritize initiatives based on business value, risk, strategic importance, dependencies, and delivery capacity.
- Translate Finance business requirements into technical product requirements, epics, capabilities, and user stories.
- Collaborate with Finance teams across different business functions to identify opportunities for process improvement and standardization.
- Promote the adoption of strategic enterprise platforms and reusable technology solutions.
- Evaluate new technology requests and prevent unnecessary duplication of applications and systems.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across Finance technology platforms and business processes.
3. Technical Solution Design and Delivery
- Work with the Principal Engineer to define technical solutions and contribute to enterprise architecture decisions.
- Collaborate with Program Managers, Scrum Masters, and Project Managers to support project planning and delivery.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog reviews, and technical discussions.
- Clarify technical requirements and resolve product-related questions during development.
- Support the Product Manager in maintaining and refining the product backlog.
- Ensure user stories meet the Definition of Ready before development begins.
- Coordinate with GTDP Centre of Excellence (COE) teams and support the required solution design approval processes.
- Contribute to the successful delivery of Finance technology projects and transformation programmes.
4. Enterprise Applications, Data, AI, and Technology Architecture
- Maintain a strategic overview of the Finance application portfolio, including system lifecycle management, technical debt, and application rationalization.
- Ensure technology solutions comply with enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, integration, data management, and IT governance standards.
- Work with Data teams to improve Finance data quality, accessibility, and governance.
- Identify opportunities to implement Artificial Intelligence (AI), Generative AI (GenAI), intelligent automation, and workflow solutions.
- Support technology modernization and digital transformation across Finance applications.
- Evaluate emerging technologies that can improve financial processes, reporting, and operational efficiency.
5. Governance, Risk Management, and Compliance
- Ensure Finance technology solutions support financial controls, audit requirements, and segregation of duties.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, cybersecurity policies, and enterprise technology standards.
- Participate in investment reviews, architecture governance, portfolio management, change management, and service governance forums.
- Identify and manage technology, application, operational, and project delivery risks.
- Ensure critical Finance applications meet business continuity, resilience, and service reliability requirements.
- Support effective governance throughout the application development and technology lifecycle.

Education and Experience Requirements

- Relevant postgraduate or professional qualifications combining Finance and Technology are preferred.
- 10–15 years of overall IT experience.
- 8–10 years of business domain experience in Finance technology, enterprise applications, or transformation roles.
- Strong experience working in Agile and Scrum environments.
- Practical experience facilitating Design Thinking workshops and product management activities.
- Good understanding of enterprise architecture, system integration, data management, information security, and financial controls.
- Proven experience delivering complex, cross-functional technology transformation initiatives.
- Experience working with external consultants, technology vendors, and system integration partners.
