FAMCO (Al-Futtaim Automotive) is seeking an experienced Power Generator Technician to join its technical service team in Dubai, UAE.
The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing power generators and related equipment. This role requires strong technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, the ability to diagnose faults independently, and a commitment to completing repairs correctly the first time.
The Power Generator Technician will work on workshop and field service assignments, ensuring generators operate reliably, minimising equipment downtime, and maintaining high customer satisfaction through professional aftersales support.
Key Responsibilities
Independently diagnose and resolve technical issues involving power generators and related equipment.
Perform scheduled maintenance, servicing, and repair work according to manufacturer specifications.
Troubleshoot, repair, and replace mechanical and electrical components.
Conduct service inspections to ensure reliable and trouble-free generator operation.
Identify additional maintenance requirements and recommend appropriate repair work.
Attend workshop and field service assignments to diagnose and resolve equipment problems.
Use technical service manuals, wiring diagrams, and diagnostic procedures to complete repairs accurately.
Follow approved service checklists and workshop procedures to minimise errors and prevent repeat repairs.
Communicate service requirements, technical findings, and repair progress to the Foreman, Service Advisor, and Service Manager.
Maintain high standards of workmanship, safety, and operational efficiency.
Share technical knowledge and provide guidance to colleagues to support team development.
Stay updated on new products, generator technologies, and equipment operating systems.
Required Skills and Competencies

5–10 years of relevant experience in servicing and repairing marine and power generators.
Proven experience in generator maintenance, fault diagnosis, troubleshooting, and component replacement.
Ability to perform independent workshop and field service activities.
